Hughes and Madaras: Two Local Traditions Team Up to Celebrate Tucson

Hughes Federal Credit Union has partnered with local artist  Diana Madaras on a specially designed debit card now available exclusively for members!  

Member-owners of Hughes already show their community support by banking at their local credit union, but now they are able to "go local" by selecting a debit card designed by a Tucson artist. Hughes commissioned the work titled “Hughes Finger Rock”, featuring the Santa Catalina Mountains’ landmark. The piece depicts Diana Madaras’ distinctively bold and colorful style. Additionally, use of the Madaras card will entitle users to a 10% discount on merchandise with Diana Madaras images at the Madaras Gallery on 3035 N. Swan Road, Tucson AZ.* Phone 520-615-3001. As an organization that is locally owned and operated by its members, Hughes wanted to add a debit card that celebrates Southern Arizona’s natural beauty, as well as our own 65th anniversary. The Madaras card, and two other designs will be added to our already popular University of Arizona-themed designs, which were chosen as the Arizona Daily Star Readers’ Choice "Best Debit Card"  for the past two years. The other new designs feature an Arizona sunset photo and the Hughes “shooting star” logo, which can be seen below. 

The three new debit card designs, along with many others are available to current members, and free to new members. Don't forget that as a Hughes member you can take advantage of our Instant Issue service. Instant issue cards allow members to open a checking account or replace a lost/stolen/damaged debit card immediately at your local branch. Your card is ready to use at the ATM, restaurants, stores and businesses! You can even select your own PIN with Instant Issue. No waiting for traditional cards to arrive in the mail.
