Hughes Federal Credit Union believes in giving back to the community we serve through sponsorships and donations. Every year, Hughes looks to help numerous local organizations that are just as dedicated to improving the overall well-being of our community as we are with financial support, giveaway items, adult and youth financial education, and much more. Hughes has provided support to countless local organizations like the Tucson Medical Center Foundation, the AZ Financial Face-Off, Pima County JTED (Joint Technical Education District), United Way and the Community Food Bank.
Mini Ponderosas Summer Camp- We had the pleasure of joining this fantastic nonprofit that mentors young girls from diverse backgrounds. We had a blast teaching these brilliant campers about financial literacy and how to manage their money like pros. From saving tips to budgeting, these girls soaked it all up with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation- an amazing organization that provides scholarships to young Arizonans. They offer programs in STEM, healthy living, public speaking, and more so that 200,000 kids are getting a head start on a bright future.
Our Marketing Strategist, Emily, serves on the 4-H board and chaired the scholarship committee. This year, she presented scholarships at the Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation annual Clover Ball.
We Care Tucson's Summer Youth Tech Camp- We had the pleasure of sponsoring the camp and took the kids on a tour to show them the ins and outs of our credit union operations. Our cybersecurity team talked to them about digital safety.
We Care Tucson collects and refurbishes old tech so it stays out of landfills. The recycled tech is available to low-income families so that everyone has access to technology and opportunities. We Care Tucson also provides medical equipment rentals to make sure everyone has what they need to live comfortably and safely.
