I was a busy single mom when I joined Hughes Federal Credit Union six years ago. Back then, I was thrilled to do all my banking online using Hughes’ mobile banking app. I still complete all my banking hassle-free with my phone to make deposits, pay bills, transfer funds, monitor transactions and more. Hughes helps me get on with my day. I love that!

Sharing the importance of family and their trust in Hughes

Hughes Federal Credit Union has served four generations of our family. My grandmother joined 60+ years ago while working at Hughes Aircraft Company, where she was employed for 27 years and met my grandfather. She then became an executive secretary at the credit union. Hughes will always hold a special place in our hearts for improving the financial lives of its members.

I joined Hughes Federal Credit Union in 1984 while working at Hughes Aircraft. 38 years later, I am still a member. It’s easy to get things done, like approvals. I’ve taken out many loans over the years. Everything is right here. You don't have to wait for decisions from a national office. Just as important, I like that Hughes is local, member-owned and generously supports our community.

I joined Hughes through the Earn to Learn program. Not only did I earn a generous scholarship for college, I learned valuable financial lessons that I shared with my family, who are now all Hughes members. With what we have all learned, my senior year, my parents purchased their first home and all of us are inspired to save and spend wisely, increase our credit scores, and build wealth.

I heard about a Hughes scholarship through my sister and applied. The application included a question about “financial goals I’ve learned.” The pandemic impacted my family’s finances, and I was helping make ends meet.
