To celebrate seven decades of serving Southern Arizona, we’re commemorating our 70th anniversary with 70 acts of kindness.

From sponsorships to scholarships, follow our progress as we show our appreciation to the people and organizations that make our home a better place to live.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals - TMC for Children

Every year, Hughes is delighted to help support our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, TMC for Children, by selling $1-holiday icons to our members to raise funds for the sick children in our communities. This act of kindness also rewarded supporters by entering them into a raffle for a giant holiday stocking.

Hughes was proud to join in celebrating some of the key educators, volunteers and partners in our community who help shape the futures of Tucson-area students and prepare them for success. As an Ambassador Sponsor for the JA Heroes event, Hughes provided the JA program for one classroom for an entire year.

The Hughes Help team helped spread some holiday cheer and donated toys to this year’s Grayson’s Gift Toy Drive to bring smiles to the children in Marana and Avra Valley.

The Hughes Shred Event helped members of our community stay protected from identity theft by safely destroying their boxes of documents while helping support the Diamond Children's Medical Center.

In support of their mission to improve the lives of Veterans and their families every day, Hughes was proud to present a donation to The Fisher House Foundation which helps provide free temporary housing to families of veterans and military service members in Tucson.

Hughes was proud to sponsor the ReSources Vail Food Bank’s 2022 Golf Challenge. The event raised funds to help provide emergency food for families, seniors and students in our community while expanding programs and services.

Special Olympics Arizona has been serving children and adults with ID since 1975. That’s why Hughes was proud to sponsor and attend the Breakfast with Champions, benefiting over 21,000 athletes participating in the Special Olympics Arizona.

From housing to nutritious home-cooked meals, RMHC nurtures the health and well-being of children with illnesses and their families. To help support that mission, Hughes was honored to sponsor the RMHC House Party event.

Over 600 girl scouts and community members gathered to get moving and challenge themselves at a 5K run/walk, out-and-back timed running experience.

Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse

Emerge provides survivors with resources including emergency shelter, safety planning, DV education and beyond. In support of their mission, Hughes donated $1,000 in hygiene items to help families in shelter.

Hughes was proud to support the 11th Annual Arizona Bilingual Newspaper's Back to School event held at the Tucson Community Center. The AZ Bilingual event gave away over 2,000 backpacks and 3,000 free textbooks to help the young learners in our community.

Casa de los Niños provides a voice for children, helping families in need and treating those in our community who have experienced trauma. This year, the Hughes Helps team was thrilled to donate school supplies for children in foster care in preparation for back-to-school.

Diapers cost over $107 on average every month,  creating a significant cost burden on our low-income families. The Hughes Help team joined the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona to help distribute diapers to families in our community.

TMC Foundation

Hughes was excited to present a donation to the TMC Foundation, which supports the charitable missions of TMC HealthCare. TMC operates the only children’s emergency center and special care unit for children who need an extended hospital stay.  


American Heart Association

This year, we partnered with the American Heart Association to help promote healthy living. On National Wear Red Day, we donated $5 for every Hughes employee who wore red.
