Hughes Federal Credit Union Invites Kids on a Jurassic Journey to Financial Wellness

Be a credit union saver and your savings will never go extinct! Learn how Hughes is celebrating Youth Month and what we’re doing to help promote the financial health of our youngest members.

It’s National Credit Union Youth Month at Hughes and we want to help you become a saver-saurus!

Learning how to save at an early age is an important step in ensuring a healthy financial life in the future, that’s why Hughes is dedicated to providing the right tools and financial guidance through Banzai, a financial education platform designed to help young members learn the skills needed to succeed. Through its partnership with Banzai, Hughes is able to offer free financial education to teachers and other community youth organizations like the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, Junior Achievement of Arizona, Youth On Their Own, Arizona’s Children Association and the Young Adult Service Program.

This April, Hughes and other credit unions across the country will be encouraging its youngest members to open their own savings account (with a parent or guardian’s help), begin a habit of putting money into that account regularly, and learn how compound interest helps their savings grow. From April 1 through April 30, members who open a new Youth Savings Account or make a deposit into their existing Youth Savings Account will automatically be entered to win one of two $100 prizes!

Join us in empowering youth to save for their future by gaining the know-how through fun and interactive lessons all month long! Need help getting a money conversation started? Check out the Hughes MoneyCoach for Students resource page to learn how to get the ball rolling on budgeting and saving.
